A workshop is a 12-week program that teaches software development and music production. In a workshop, a student can expect to receive training in the material, gain experience by working on a real product, building their own business portfolio, and presenting what they've done. The student will gain the following soft skills:

• Ability to work in a team structure
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems
• Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with people
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work
• Ability to obtain and process information

At the conclusion of the workshop, the student will have produced their own live product, either a video game or music album, that will be consumed by the public. A workshop is designed to properly prepare the student to compete in today's IT market after high school. 

Our workshops run for 10 - 12 weeks. We meet twice a week, typically mons and weds from 5 pm-7 pm.

Chromebooks are supported for the Music Learning Track, but not for the Game Learning Track. The Game Learning Track is driven by Windows. Chromebook users, do have the possibility of having access to a virtual Windows machine that they can use to participate.

Yes, there's a combination of in-class participation and homework to help cement the understanding of the material.

We use Git, Jira, GIMP, Audacity, Sublime Text, OpenBOR Game Engine, and BandLab. 

Git is a versioning control software that’s used universally across the IT landscape. It helps keep track of your code and allows for software development teams to collaborate on a codebase. 

Jira is a universally used project management software for team collaborations.

GIMP is an open-sourced image manipulation software comparable to Photoshop.

Audacity is a free and open-source digital audio editor and recording application software. 

Sublime Text is a sophisticated text editor that can be used as an integrated development environment(IDE) for coding. 

OpenBOR is a 2D side-scrolling gaming engine used for building many types of games. 

Bandlab is a cloud platform where musicians and fans create music, collaborate, and engage with each other across the globe.
